As part of my ASL class we are supposed to find out what sorts of TV sitcoms deaf people like to watch. I sort of thought it was the same as any hearing person as long as it has CC. Maybe I'm wrong. What TV sitcom do you like and why? Also looking for a book you would recommend to an ASL student about learning ASL or about deaf culture.
Thanks

smile What kind of sitcoms do I like? One kind that I enjoy is the kind where there are close-ups of facial expressions. Or other visual type scenes.

A book that I would strongly recommend is "For Hearing People Only" (Moore, Deaf Life Press).

I can't think of any by name that I prefer over the others. If the show has a lot of visual humor then I can appreciate it more. If a show has unexpected visuals then it's more likely that I'll watch it.
